We at brooke/wanless gardens, llc focus on seasonally appropriate pruning and fine garden care with a patient, thorough approach. Along with this, we offer pruning and gardening lessons and consultations, either in your garden or in a classroom. We keep abreast of new research in horticulture and arboriculture through conferences and lectures by leaders in these fields.
Located in West Seattle, we work all over the greater Seattle area, including Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Mercer Island, Burien, Des Moines and Normandy Park.
Bill is our ISA-Certified Arborist. Our arboriculture work focuses on the pruning and care of small trees (including fruit trees), shrubs and vines. This includes the transplanting and removal of existing plants, and the selection and planting of new ones. Good pruning combines an artist’s eye and the science of how plants grow with the goal of beautifully sculpting the plant now and into the future.
Ellen, our Gardener and Horticulturist, specializes in taking care of existing gardens, breathing new life into old gardens, and uncovering secret gardens. Our services take an individualized and collaborative approach to holistic garden and plant care, based on homeowner preferences and needs. We establish a care plan specific to each garden throughout all seasons. To paraphrase an old Hawaiian saying, “If you love a flower, you need to know what the plant needs throughout the rest of the year.” This is what we strive to do with our skills and knowledge.
